Copper Mould

2008

“When my goldsmith saw what I had drawn he showed me a copper cake mould and said, ‘hey isn’t that an amazing shape’ and he went away and made a mini brass mould ex- actly like the one he had shown me that day.”
-CORA SHEIBANI

The ‘Copper Mould’ collection was fashioned in gemstones and materials chosen to resemble the colour of the food portrayed. Puddings, tarts and jellies were consummated in gold set with ebony, chrysoprase, green opal, cacholong opal, nephrite and lapis, and then decorated with diamond sugar sprinkles or ruby berries or a spinel cherry on top.
