The inspiration for the ‘Cactaceae’ collection was Filicudi, an arid island in the Aeolian archipelago off the northern coast of Sicily where Opuntia cacti (prickly pears from Mexico) grow in the wild and where her mother has cultivated an extensive cactus garden.
